Gastroenterology
The Division of Gastroenterology serves a diverse patient population, and has a broad goal of providing excellence in patient care, medical education, and research. All physician members of the Gastroenterology Division have full-time academic appointments in the Brown Medical School at the Assistant Professor level or higher. All are board certified in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology. The members of the division all maintain private practices, as well as providing primary faculty support to the Inpatient GI Service and the Rhode Island Hospital GI and Hepatology Clinics. Experts are available in the fields of general gastroenterology, H. Pylori infection, gastric cancer, colon cancer and colon cancer screening, gastroesophageal reflux (GERD), Barrett's esophagus, esophageal motility disorders, acute and chronic liver diseases including viral hepatitis, hepatobiliary disease, fatty liver disease, cirrhosis, and hepatocellular carcinoma.
