Endocrinology (The Hallett Center for Diabetes and Endocrinology at Rhode Island Hospital)

The Hallett Center is the first comprehensive, academic diabetes center in Rhode Island. It is the home to a team of physicians, nurses and researchers. Recognizing the need to provide care for other endocrine disorders as well as diabetes, the Hallett Center is structured to integrate programs on diabetes and the full spectrum of endocrine disorders. The center has been designed to include an outpatient facility that provides patients and referring physicians with access to endocrinologists and multiple other subspecialists, a patient education program and inpatient services, all of which are coordinated with the educational, clinical and basic research activities of the division of endocrinology.

The Hallett Center is located in a 12,000 square foot space in the Coro Building on Hoppin Street in the Providence Jewelry District. In addition to diabetes treatment, other services, such as ophthalmology and podiatry, are available. The Hallett Center also offers certified diabetic outpatient education in both individual and group settings.
